That said I made the following upgrades over the last few months: Avid SD3 V brakes Easton EA50 Seatpost Selle Italia Flite saddle Mavic 221 rims (built up with Deore hubs) Panaracer Fire XC tyres Yeti grips Things to keep in mind are that the 4500 has a very upright geometry which may or may not be to your liking. The Bontrager saddle is fantastically uncomfortable, though to be fair a new saddle is a cheap and easy upgrade. Don't expect too much from the RockShox Judy fork either - it won't break or anything but don't expect too much travel. IMHO, all this is fine for the money because its a nice hardtail frame, has a Deore back mech for pretty smooth gear shifting. There is no NEED to upgrade anything but it is a solid base to work from if you choose to go down that route. Hope that helps, if you want to know something specific please ask away though. barq |
