Default Ullrich and rainbow bands

Correct me if I'm wrong but I've never seen Ullrich wear rainbow bands on his jersey sleeves (as he's entitled to as an ex-world time-trial champion). Many ex-track world champions display the bands on the road so it has nothing to do with the discipline. German modesty perhaps?

I'm very German, and I'm very NOT modest.
