Default intense cravings

I was wondering if I am the only one out there who suffers from intense food cravings after riding above 75% of max heart rate for more than an hour. It seems like all I want to do afterwards is eat. (all night long). I'm thinking this is normal. I'm not over weight at 5'8 146. Although I can pinch a little more than an inch on my waist. My wife thinks this is abnormal but I try to tell her that my metabolism is really cranking. It seems that the only thing that will cut the cravings is about 1/2 teaspoon of salt, which she gives me grief about also. Do I need this salt?
Any feed back about this would be great so I can put her fears to rest. Shes afraid I'm going to eat us out of house and home. Thanks in advance.

LOL....... i also get in fits of eating almost non stop all night like your saying. in 5'7 144lbs and most days i down 4 thousand calories, ill go from turkey sandwich to a bowl of ceral to a bean burrito, to fruit, then yogurt to waffles(example) ect.... after a full course meal and im still losing body fat. some days its hard to get the calories so i drink meal subsitute. i ride 12-15 hours a week so i need the calories, sounds like you do to. if you dont eat enough you will be weak and may loose some muscle. i agree with your gf on the salt! thats a lot of salt! i would chill on that.
bottom line is if your hungry you need to eat, i hope you dont have to get a secound job bro.
