I'm in the process of identifying and buying parts for a new hardtail bike.
I wanted the "Trek 8500" frame, but it's hard to find online. I found it here in Japan for 90.000Y (~840usd) but the value of the dollar is currently very low, and I guess I can find it on the home market cheaper than here. I'm working at a Shimano XT, Manitou Skareb, Disc brake, Easton bar and bontrager barend setup - and need a good/decent frame matching the quality. I had one bike which let me down, and this one is bought to last I'm 1.86cm tall and 100kg, so gotta be sturdy. My last hardtail was 21.5" frame, and I look for this size again. I'm using my bike mainly for varied riding, ranging from long-distance trekking, to weekend camping rides and light offroad in forest. Where is the cheapest online shop to buy the 8500 frame, or what alternatives should I look at ? Thanks for any help ![]() |
