Default Papa needs a new pair of shoes!

Hey all. I've been wringing every bit of usefullness I can out of my current clipless shoes (shimanos that look like old vans, sort of). I'm afraid the time has come to "retire" them. They seem to be more "duct tape" than shoe. Amazing, I'll drop $3k on a bike and countless dough on other crap, but yet I won't buy new shoes for riding. My wife says it's sad. I say it's loyalty! I haven't read an mtb mag or review stuff in sooooo long I don't know if there are any new offerings in shoes these days. I don't care for the "racer" look stuff. I'd prefer something that looks kind of like a skate/bmx shoe and it's gotta be available in a size 14. I suppose I could surf around for an spd compatable bmx inspired shoe, but frankly I'm feeling lazy right now. I don't have a brand preference, yet. Thanks for the thoughts and feedback! Ride well all.

K.

Try looking at Pearl Izumi Vagabond. Just might be the ticket...

...but then I don't think you could go wrong with "The Dominator".

I have both an '02 Dominator and '04 Specialized Mountain Comp and the Dom's are still the most comfortable.

661 has one of those vans style clipless shoes and so does Shimano and Specialized. I remember Axo had them too but I don't know if they even make them anymore.

I second the Sidi's. If you are the type to use your shoes forever - then spend the money - these are the most comfortable shoes you'll ever own

The SIDI's don't fit the description of exactly what he's looking for but they are definately worth considering. They last forever and are one of the best fitting shoes you will ever try.
