Default Type of trainer

I'm thinking of getting rollers, or should I think about a stationary trainer. Need to do something to get back into cycling shape. Any thoughts???

I've used a magnetic and fluid trainer (CycleOPS). I find the fluid resistance much more effective and less cumbersome. With the magnetic resistance you need to adjust the resistance to your liking. While the fluid resistance, you only need to shift to a bigger gear (smaller cog at the back) to increase resistance. Also, modesty aside, I've had CycleOps replace (under warranty) the mag resistance unit twice. So far the fluid has been holding up just fine. Which brings me to recommend CycleOps since they have a lifetime warranty on their trainers, plus a very good customer support.

I would just get a trainer instead of a roller since you can get the same training on a roller while riding in a pack. While on the trainer, you can get a quality workout without interuption (traffic lights, cars, etc.) unlike when you are riding outside.

Glad you decided to ride again

I just picked up a Computrainer. Among many other things it does, it also makes riding a trainer more tolerable, something that can otherwise be quite monotonous. If you can swing it, I definitely recommend picking up one.
