Thumbs up Italy tour - Tuscany/Umbria

Hey all,

I'm in the process of planning a tour in Italy next year. My first
draft itinerary is as follows:
Ostia - Santa Marinella (65km) - Ponte D Abbadia (71km) - Pitigliano (70km) - Montalcino (76km) - Siena (58km) - Castelfiorentino (59km) - Firenze (41km) - Poppi (51km) - Sansepolcro (58km) - Gubbio (66km) - Assisi (48km) - Orvieto (85km) - (somewhere between Orvieto and Rome) (60km??) - Rome (65km??)

We plan to camp mostly, staying in hotels or affitacamere where there are no campsites. And definitely hotel in Florence and Rome.

Anyone have any suggestions about things to see, places to stay or eat, or things to avoid. I'm still deciding on a stop between Orvieto and Rome, so suggestions welcome there too.

TIA
