Default Odd muscle twitch

This isn't something I'm worried about; but I am curious.
I've noticed that after a hard ride (normally when I'm laying on the couch in a relaxed fashion) my quads will start to twitch. It doesn't hurt like a cramp but they visably move. I haven't been able to figure this one out. It is really odd..... Any explination from you sports phis guys?

I get this a lot. I have heard that it is related to a potassium inbalance. I tend to drink water on long/hard rides but since switching to Gatorade etc it seems to be better.
