Default MTB training

Hi
I have recently started doing long MTB rides (65- 85 km's). I intend doing a multistage race next year 700 km's over 8 days.

What sort of training program should I be on in order to maintain fitness between races (I long race per month) and also to prepare for the long race next year in February.

I possible I would like some detail with regards to what I should be doing on a weekly basis taking into account my long term goal

I'm guessing that you're doing the cape epic. I think the biggest training secret is lots of miles.

By Feb you want to be very comfortable spending up to 6-7 hours on your bike at a time. For training do this on both days of the weekend. During the week just ride as much as your time allows.
