Default Chaindriver v. Cyclops

I am relegated to months of indoor riding (Ah New England in the winter) and need a new trainer. I am looking at either a fluid(cyclops2) or a chain driven trainer called chaindriver. Any feedback or suggestions on either would be greatly appreciated

Fluid trainers are great, but all of them are prone to leakage. The Kurt Kinetic is the best fluid trainer you can buy and has the only foolproof design to prevent leakage.

You can also get a Kurt with a 6 pound flywheel which will make your riding seem the most realistic. There are only two trainers out there with 6 pound flywheels, the Kurt and the 1UP. A heavy flywheel helps contribute to proper "road feel."

Cyclops fluid trainers have had legendary leakage problems in the past. Supposedly, the quality is better with an improved heat sink and "O" rings, on the fluid 2, but who knows??? The Kurt uses a magnetically coupled resistance unit, no axel seals to blow and leak on your floor.

Whatever you do, be sure to check out all the trainers out there and ask the manufacturer what their policy is if the resistance unit leaks.

Happy shopping!!!
