Default pedaling techniques

anyone here do ankling. i've tried it when cruising on the flat. when the road went up i couldn't concentrate on it and just reverted to usual style.

what about pulling up. i find it definately helps when going up with low cadences. i can't keep do it for long though. anyone know a technique to stregthen the particular muscle that helps there. would hill repeats work focusing on maintaing that style.
