Unhappy rotated kneecaps

Heya
I gave up racing 12yrs ago after an accident that dislocated both my knees (cars will do that lol), I snapped my cleats off as i came out vertically.
Anyway, everytime I start to build up a modicum of fitness with cycling, I get numb tingling and aches in my knee caps.
A physio told me both caps had rotated inward (cant remember how many degree's).
Anyway, the ligament is stretched, will continuous training either make this more painfull and uncomfortable than it already gets, or will it take up the slack, so to speek, of my ligaments?
Thanx

Might be a little of topic
But I would recommend talking to a yoga or tai-chi instructor.
I've personally met several people who were told by doctors that they will not fully recover (usually after serious car accidents) that recovered after starting to practice on of those. The problem is you need to make sure your instructor is truly knowledgeable. Especially in yoga if the teacher does not know what he/she is doing they can do more harm than good. In general tai-chi is easier to practice and takes less commitment.... But either one can do miracles for the health of the spine, joints & body overall.
