Just finished watching todays stage of the Vuelta (Sunday). Contador goes on the attack and I thought "here we go" he'll gain 3 minutes in 5km. Valverde gets his wheel, Anton joins soon after and they force him to work all the way. I'm thinking they have gained 1 if not 2 minutes on Sastre and the chasing bunch. Then all of sudden they are joined by the rest about 1.5km from the line.... whats the story Contador...? I think he is off he gear or at the very least just not using CERA. His attacked looked great on film but at the end of the day it had nothing. I think Ricco was right..... Contador is the best rider in the world... when using drugs.
Well done Valverde and Anton doing a Cadel and making the drug cheat do the work. Its the only way to beat him. |

IMO opinion Contador is good, but not as good or dominant as some of these monger Astana fans make out. Simply fact is he only won the Tour because of Rasmussen, and the the Giro was a wheelsucker performance (and people bag Evans and Leipheimer).

Contador still can launch explosive attack on a slope, in order to shake off some rivals, 'cause he's light and young (older you get - less explosive you become), but he can not maintain increased speed in order to make big(ger) time gaps, so the rest of bunch can catch him or limit the losses by steadily increasing pace and working together. So, he attacks, but after attack he's again on speed before the attack, what gives opportunity to rivals to catch him or limit the losses. Today it was very clear - Valverde and Igor Anton could follow him with little delay and the rest of the field didn't loose much time. Incapability to maintain increased speed or to raise speed of riding could be caused by lack of fuel. Also, keep in mind that Beret wasn't exactly climb to make big differences. Let's wait and see Angliru and other climbs where his body weight could play more significant role.

Nice analysis Andrija, you are correct, let us see what happens on the Angliru. That should separate the men from the boys.

I love the way everyone has their own bug bear doper. The rider they support is clean but every rider that beats him is dirty. If only it were that simple.... |

You're just a big ghey bear aren't you ? I thought it was great how Valverde and Anton just say on Contador's wheel. If they want to win this is what they have to do. Contador waved them through but they wouldn't come through. Its a pity Sella is not here to ride for Contador... ha aha ha ha ha ha ha !!!!!!!!! ha ha ha ha !!!!! LOL !!!!! ha ha ha !!!!!!! ![]() |

Damnit - Evansitis is spreading through the peleton like wildfire! The fight for the yellow jersey is getting as intense as the fight for the flame rouge. Personally I can't wait to see a 200 rider track stand on a Col - that will make for riveting viewing.... |

LOL. He may be a cheat, but Ricco definitely made reading the news reports worthwhile. I miss him already. |
