The post that sparked off your rant was entirely neutral. Read it again.
You're the only won't "banging on" about something.

And you're *still* ranting - you've just told *me* not to keep 'banging on
about it' and I haven't mention them. I've taken offence at that - I had
no intention of banging on about them before, but now you've told me not to
I might do just out of sheer bloody-mindedness!
