Default Juddering brakes on Carbon rims....

Hi - I have some new carbon rimmed wheels and the supplied pads seem to
'judder' a lot. Not so noticable at speed but if I am descending a steep
narrow gravely hill I am on the brakes a lot, especially if the the road
is too narrow to pass cars comming up the hill. If I have to brake
quickly both wheels judder when the brakes are applied and it's almost
impossible to come to a smooth stop. When the brakes 'grab' it feels
like the wheels will skid, the back one especialy is prone to this. I am
trying to be gentle with the pressure and not use the back brake too
much.

Is this 'normal behaviour' for carbon rims?

Thanks

Live with it. Braking with carbon rimmed wheels suck big time. You can
look at the pads if they collected some clearcoat of the rims. You can
scrape that off. It will be better for a short while. I sold my carbon
rimmed wheels and took my loss. Never felt comfortable on a decent. It
actually made you slower.
