In Stage 1 of the Route Du Sud today the winning break (eventuially 17
riders) gained roughly 37 minutes on the field. http://www.routedusud.fr/ Where does this stand historically in terms of BIG gaps created early in a stage race? And of course this race is only a measly 4 stages. In recent TdF history Oscar Pereiro comes to mind. And farther back theres the pensec /massen/chiapucci/bauer break that had each of them wearing yellow at some point. Um no, maybe not Massen. Thoughts anyone? DR |
