Both are excellent value for money. See here for more complete details of frame geometry :- http://www.surlybikes.com/lht_comp.html PH |

They're semi- discontinued, but some bike stores may have stock. The smaller sizes fit a 26" x 1.3". Alternatively, a Riv Atlantis will fit a 26" x 1.7" in a 47cm. Rodriguez Cycles in Seattle (rodcycle.com) sells touring bikes that can take a 26 x 1.3" with sensible geometry in small sizes. My wife rides one and loves it. Prices have gone up considerably, though, since we bought it. Finally, you could try a 650c bike and put 26" wheels on them. The difference in rim diameter is very small, (571 vs 559), or 6mm in radius. This means that 26" wheels with narrow tires (e.g. 559-25 or 559-28) will fit in some 650c frames without modifications, or with a change of brakes. |

Might be worth calling a local REI, if you have one, to see if they have any left. Another choice is their Transfer commuter bike: http://www.rei.com/product/744802 though I don't know if they're particularly sized for smaller riders. |

I hit the jackpot! Looking at the 3rd and last bike shop locally I saw
this sweet Miyata Pavea 77 steel 26" wheel small bike in A1 shape except for tires, super fast and reasonably light and got it for $200 all tuned up. Found new tires in 26" X 7/8" online shop didn't have anything (20-571),ut no luck so far with tubes that narrow-presta valve. |

If you are looking for 26"/559 road tires/tubes, here's some: http://calhouncycle.com/productcart...p?idCategory=59 http://hostelshoppe.com/cgi-bin/sea...category=704500 http://hostelshoppe.com/cgi-bin/rea...sory=1023226312 |
