I thought High Road coulda hooked them up with some pink tires. Lame - poor planning on Bruyneel's part. Too much focus on "training" and not the important details like color-coordination. |

Good eyes! Hey, maybe it's not too late to be involved in professional cycling... "So there I was, holding Contador's wheel on a tough climb. Well, actually it was his entire bike, but anyway..." -Paul |

For one thing, his pants are tucked into his boots. For another, there is another similarly kitted-out Alpino further down the hill at the very left of the picture. And they are the only two people standing inside the tape; the spectators are on the outside. They're playing the same role as the carabinieri who usually guard the barriers at the finish. Perhaps above a certain altitude, the Alpini have jurisdiction. The funny thing is that our Alpino is clearly checking out the picture he just took on his digital camera. Ben |
