Which wheelset is more value for money?
I know Mavic crossride is cheaper than American classic but If American classic terrain has a big improvement over Mavic I don't mind paying more.. Improvement like acceleration , smoothtness. Care to comment? Thanks |

If it were me, I'd get a Mavic 717 rim, XT hub and ordinary 14/15 spokes. There's nothing like durability and on-track repairability.
You're not going to notice an acceleration or smoothness difference from one MTB wheel to another, even downhill vs XC wheels (the weight difference would have a few seconds effect on your times if you race).
