I am spending about an hour a day in a Hyperbaric Chamber (Hyper - not
Hypo) - 4psi, very high oxygen concentration (I am doing this for a couple of health reasons / helping my son with autism) I have read that this will also help in recovering from muscle fatigue in "getting back into shape" - I have tested this and it seems to be true. I can bury myself in a ride and feel fine the next day (after being in the chamber). But long term, I am concerned this will have a negative impact on my training - isn't that the whole reason people sleep in low oxygen environments when training? Thanks! |

People sleep in low O2 on the supposition that it causes the body to generate more red corpuscles. That is probably unlikely unless you're a real extremist and do it all night every night. The same might be said of your treatments. Remember that your blood O2 is probably 99% at atmospheric pressure so what would additional O2 do? |

Why should we take your word? Have you ever ridden a fixed gear? |
