You know you;re in the right job when...

the pedal on your Brom packs up on the way to the office, you walk
three minutes to the tube, are delivered to the door of your office,
and at lunchtime a five minute trip to the on-site bike shop reveals
a healthy stock of Brompton bikes and spares.

Yebbut after 20 years it gets tiresome.

You have a bike shop for the two of three days a year and virtually
every other day you just have the commute.

On a bike. Through the park. Seeing the sights, which are getting
better by the day :-)

I understand very little of what's being discussed
but for some reason it's fascinating.

Oh. I thought you lived in Reading and were working in London. Which I
know from one of my colleagues can be a particularly depressing lifestyle.

But I guess I got it wrong.

I do - but although your friend seems to be having terrible trouble
with his lifestyle (something he should, of course, not mention out
loud, for reasons we all know, I hope), I'm not having trouble with
mine just yet.

I dunno either.

His problem is a 1.5 hour each way commute. That's on a good day when
the trains aren't messed up.

Ah, you see I don't view it as a 1.5 hour commute, I view it as a 40
minute commute with a nice bike ride at the end.

Better to just have the nice 40 minute bike ride.
