Default Blood work

Hello -

I was hoping someone could give a brief answer and tell me if these are 'good' figures? Last week I went to have my blood work done and I picked up the results.

My Hemoglobin was 16.4 and my Hematocrit is 47.5. Are these consider good, bad?

My doctor didn't feel the need to call me about them so I assume its not bad!

Google is your friend. Take a look around. This was the first hit on Google when I looked up normal hemoglobin ranges... http://www.bloodbook.com/ranges.html

Those are well within the normal ranges. I know that hematocrit can vary greatly from individual to individual, even day to day in the same person - due to hydration, diet and rest. "Normal" ranges for men are 42-54.

If you were below these numbers, you would likely have been contacted with the news that you were anemic! You sound plenty healthy. With training that number could even increase!
