Question Maybe a good microphone for Polar...

Apparently, so I've read, Polar HRM's are sometimes difficult to make shake hands with the online website.

For what it's worth, I happened to notice that this vendor says that a certain $20 microphone makes connections easier. Just sayin', don't have any experience with these meself ...

"We have tested the Sony ECM-F8 microphone with the Polar SonicLink system, and it is the only microphone we suggust to use. It just works, period."

I have the no-name, stock microphone that comes with a computer when you buy it, and it's really old.

However, it works like a charm. I hold my CS200cad right up to (touching) the microphone and the signal meter on the Polar Weblink software is always high this way.

If you're running windows, this may help:

Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder

Now, select Edit > Audio Properties. Click Volume buttom under Sound Recording.... Push the volume slider up all the way. Now your microphone is more sensitive to sound.
