I'm looking to replace my original 700x38 tires on my TREK 7300. For a short time, I did have 700x25s on it, but want the comfort/touring quality of a wider 28-35 tire. I ride Bontrager XLite ACs 700x25s on my TREK Pilot 5.2.
What width tire would you recommend for all around riding (almost entirely on roads) at about 20 - 25 kph speeds, 300km per week and about 3000km per season? I'm looking at Bontragers, Michelins, Continentals and Vittorias in the 28 - 35 widths. Short list but open for suggestions: Continental Top Contact 700x32 - 465g Michelin Transworld 700x35 - 480g Continental Contact Extra Light 700x37 - 476g Bontrager Select Invert Hardcase 700x35 - 500 g Bontrager Satellite Sl - folding 700x35 - 450 g Bontrager Racelite Hardcase 700x32 - 440 g |

Conti Ultra Gatorskin in 28c. No real need for 32+ tires if the bike is just a road bike on roads, IMO. |
