the components are the same. my question: is it better to have the carbon frame(CR1) or aluminum(S30)? this is my first road bike but i'm not new to cycling. any info will help. thanks.

Go for the CR-1...that is my primary ride and the carbon has a much better ride (in my opinion) to my aluminum bike.
