Depends on personal taste, whether you like these ones:

or those ones:

Depends on whether or not you like a chaffed bum after spending two straight
hours in the saddle.

A good pair of knicks makes all the difference.

Chaffed? That's pretty serious.

Theo
Who helped his granddad make chaff.

Spelling issues aside, yes it can get quite serious. Was speaking to an
Ambo paramedic at a go-kart outing one day, who said her very first day on the
job was at a Sydney to the Gong ride.
One further than that, her first "job" of the day was some guy who waddled
over to her, drops his pants, points to his bits, and yells "Vaseline!
Vaseline!". So she throws him a jar and says "do it yourself".

So, spare a thought for our paramedics and prevent "chaffing" in the first
place. The consequences can be, er, icky.

So you are saying that I should continue to wear king gee shorts as
tights give you chaffing?

You can wear knicks and not suffer so much from chaffing (sic), or, you can
risk it and get either a Pretty Young Thing from the ambulance rub you up with
vaso.
Or that big burly bloke called Buba.

The choice is yours. :-)

I prevented it by riding a recumbent. OK, the startup cost is high,
but you never have to buy the nappy shorts again!

Really? What are the symptoms and how do you fake the red rash?

OTOH, I've all ready pulled a great chick wearing my kinggees {:-).

I do anyway. I suppose all those years of doing it "properly" on the
upright stuck.
On that note, I questioned the use of helmets on recumbent. Going on how
fast I'm likely to go, the helmet will be wearing ME for protection.
