Default Old Zipp 404's-would you buy them?

Hey,
I'm a newbie to this forums but have been cycling for a long time and I am in need of some honest opinions. I am planning on being a time trailist, but I do a lot of everything like track racing or stage races, but I don't have a lot of money. I want to get something that will work really well in TT's and will last forever. I friend of mine offered me 2007 dimpled Zipp 404's that have only been raced a couple of times for $1000. Tell me what you thin, is this a good price, are these really good wheels for TT's? Thanks in advance for he responses! How will these compare to my current wheels which are Bontrager Race XX lite.

they are tubular...I am taking the advice from earlier in this post and going with a bike fit instead. The Zipps also came with a cassett to...they were on craigslist but then got taken off
