hello,
I am looking to build my own carbon time trial bike. Why?? cheap tt bikes with ultegra dont seem to be carbon. carbon comes in a dura ace and is by then a very exy in a package. TT carbon Frame $600 Wheelset dont need already have Groupset (chainset/crankset, tt levers, bullhorn brakes, rear mech, front mech, bottom bracket/cups, chain, cassette, caliper brakes) DuraAce $110, Ulterga less Cables $40 Stem, and seat bar $ Handlebar Tape $3 Tyres (700mm) not needed Inner tubes not needed Handlebars - need a tt handle with areo bars up to $400 Saddle $80 Headset spacers $20 Pedals already have Have missed anything? Because for $2000 i can make my own carbon dura ace tt bike minus the wheels & pedals which i have. Why i everyone not doing this? Will my LBS mind tuning this kind of home made bike they haven't sold me? Is there anything that i need to check before buying a frame in regards to size Stem, and seat bar, bottom bracket measurements? cheers |

I have my components organised, just need seat, handle bar, and frame.
Any recommendations? What size in diamteters should i be looking for, in regards to the frame? Is there a standard? In regards to size Stem, and seat bar, bottom bracket measurements? Should all frames take a shimano bottom bracket? I take a 55.5cm road bike, will i be looking at the same size in time trial bike? |
