Default No sponsor for High Road until 2010

Stapleton must have made out like a bandit when T-Mob broke their contract. He looking for sponsors to start sponsorship in 2010.

I liked the last part:

"I think we could see something happen by June, and by the end of the year we could be looking at a completely different sport," Stapleton commented.

Words to send a shiver down the spine of UCI president Pat McQuaid.

I watched on interview with Stapleton either on Velonews or on Versus (TV) where he discussed their plan.

Thanks to the buyout, he has until 2010 (or 2009 to find one) so he does not want to rush it. He wants a sponsor that wants to get into the sport and stay in it as a very interested party.

He has won my admiration.

Interesting that ASO is now interested in ToC (AEG) as well. They already have the Hamburg Cyclassics and the Tour of Germany, possibly soon the Vuelta and then all those races that they are already organising. Soon we don't need the UCI anymore....
