Default upgrading a Cannondale Bad Boy

I'm getting a Cannondale Bad Boy soon and i was considering upgrading the brakes on it while i have some buying power with the shop. It comes with avid bb5's, one guy told me to upgrade to the bb7's which i would but i am actually now considering upgrading to hydraulics brakes. Does anyone think this is a good idea? would there be a significant improvement on the mechanical ones? I assume i'd need to stick in the avid range, can anyone recommend a model?

thanks guys , here's the bike btw http://www.cannondale.com/bikes/08/cusa/model-8BS.html
