I have noticed many of the top pro men are very small and skinny, while the top women tend to be larger in build. Why is there a difference in body type for men and women? In comparison women distance runners are identical in body type to there male counterparts. Both the men and women are very lean, I don’t think I have ever seen a “thick” professional marathon runner.
