Recently, I was away from the pool for several weeks. During that time,
I was able to keep up my high intensity (for me) aerobic work at the gym without interruption. When I returned recently to the pool, I had lost almost nothing in terms of speed, maybe one second per hundred over the 2000 meters I normally have time to swim. I'm not talking about being race fit, mind you, because I'm not doing tapering and sprint work. But last week I was sick for a few days, some kind of chest infection. I went back to the pool today and had trouble just finishing my usual distance. I didn't think I was that sick, so maybe illness is the real performance killer. |

They must have step machines and elliptical walkers onboard navy ships. |

Keep your heart rate up to at least the midpoint of the green zone (if you have the new TechnoGym model. |
