Default 'dutch oven' recipes ?

Hi
I'm just browsing the web, putting some recipes onto my phone for use 'in the field' as it were, and I keep coming across mention of 'dutch oven' recipes. My attempts to find what that means on google only come up with more recipes.

Can someone tell me what they are and if it's feasible to lug one about on a bike?

Thanks.

Yes, erm .. quite.

However, more googling took me to here ..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_oven

.. which should have been obvious to me from the start. Duh ..

But if the only way to get a Dutch .. erm .. a real Dutch oven is to humph one of those mothas around, then I suppose having one on a bicycle is out of the question? Is there a way to 'kludge' one, you know like having a normal camping saucepan do the job?

Dutch oven or camp oven cooking is done by placing a heavy cast iron pot in hot coals and placing more coals on the lid.
Drier food such as basic bread or vegetables such as potatos can be cooked by wrapping in aluminium foil and placing these in the coals but remember to be patient and not to have flames as this will cause burning (slow is the way to go).
