Hey guys, first post here so I'll try not to ramble.
I've recently taken up riding with some mates due to the fact I'm now 33 and inactive but I'm starting to really enjoy it and ride more and more often, I did my first 40km ride last weekend and intend on making that 50km this weekend. I picked up an '01 Avanti Vivace fairly cheap and love the bike but some of the places we go are just a little too rough. All paved areas but some are pretty bumpy from tree roots or just bad maintenance. Bottom line is I'm gonna kill the Avanti if I keep using it for this so I need something a little more sturdy. Any suggestions as to which flatbar/light weight mtb/city bike in Oz for $1,000 give or take a couple of hundred? Preferably in Adelaide but I'm ok buying online for the right bike. Also it needs to be fairly small as I'm only 170cm (5'7). Definately wont be used off-roading but will be used on a whole heap of different paved surfaces including poor roads and bike tracks. If not maybe just some good shops to check out (or avoid maybe) here. Cheers, Scott |

Have a look at the Giant CRX2 in a "Small".
