This is more of a general OT question, on the whole. Does anyone have any good suggestions for weight loss, etc? I've been out of cycling for about 10 years now, and just picked up a new-to-me bike, and have recently been hitting the gym. I'm 6', and can't seem to get myself below the 300# mark. Any and all suggestions would be helpful. I'm serious about getting back into this, and have given myself the goal of doing the Portland Bridge Pedal next August. That's about a year to get myself into some sort of shape, other than round.
Thanks in advance, all! |

. Joke.Calorie count. Make sure you burn more than eat. Don't over estimate how much exercise will burn. Its far easier/quicker to put energy in than burn in out. Lets face it losing weight is unpleasant, your body is starving so it uses its reserves, never a nice feeling. I'm sure online calorie calculators for cycling exist but I've never used one. Also eat the right stuff. http://www.food.gov.uk/multimedia/pdfs/bghbooklet.pdf (still our population is the most obese in Europe so what do they know )Be honest and don't cheat. Good luck hope you crack it. |

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if there was a good gym regimine to work with or not. Just to build up strength and endurance. I appreciate the cheering though, every little bit helps.
