Has anyone got an opinion on the Giant TCR C2 (2007). Its change over time for Giant as they are shifting over to the 2008s and so I have found the TCR C2 (2007) reduced from AU$3000 to AU$2200. On the face of it a real bargain but is it a good bike?
I was also considering the Azzurri Primo which is some AU$500 more but has full ultegra as ooposed to the Giant that has 105 and weighs a good Kg less than the Giant at 7.70Kg. Both have the Mavic Aksium wheels. Is it worth that extra A$500 to get the better group set and reduced weight? One of the guys in a bike shop i spoke to said that a rule of thumb was to save a Kg you have to shell out an extra AU$1000. If thats the case maybe the Azzurri is a good buy?? |

[QUOTE=gusrider]Has anyone got an opinion on the Giant TCR C2 (2007).

Hi gusrider, Not sure if this will help much but as I'm currently in the same boat - spending loads of time speaking to LBS salesman and pouring over reviews and forums such as this - i can share some experience. As well as your options, I looking at Cannondale CAAD9's which seem a good package allowing you can get some good wheels to boot. The Azzuri's look great with the carbon finish and i like the clean cut between models and group set (all Integra components). Just hesitant over buying a lesser brand with frames from the same factory as learsport?!? I'm getting more into competing but also need an around town bike to replace my 7yo Avanti Pro. The lightness of these new bikes is amazing and i can't wait to get on the road with my new (or 2nd hand) purchase. Some shops offer demo/trials so will definately take up that option. best of luck - please keep the forum informed of your progress. |

Hello,
i opted for the Azzuri Primo and have so far done about 500km on it and love it. Graet looking bike, complete Ultegra works really well, aksium wheels on the 2008 version are good and bike very light - couldn't find anything close in the price range. Yep, highly recommended. good luck. |
