I am doing my first 100 mile ride this Saturday and probably will ride Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday Friday. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations about distance and intensity I should ride this week. Thanks

Just take it easy, stay hydrated and well fed on your rides and enjoy it. All you need to do is spin your legs out and wait for the big day. Good luck! |

id take wednesday or thursday off. if saturday is your 5th day going in a row (even if youre just taking it easy every other day) your legs could be very liable to just have a 'bad day'.
apart from that, i would avoid high intensity like the plague this week, unless there are some very steep climbs on the course, in which case it would be a good idea to open your lungs up with a couple of time trial-like efforts (say, 2k tt speed, but only for 5-700 meters). eat and drink plenty during your rides, even if theyre only an hour long, it will just save your muscles the trouble of replenising after the ride. finally, good luck! |
