Default College Student Needs Advice to Get Into Cycling

Hi all,

I start college this fall, and am faced with the realization that I will have to live and get around without a car. I've been considering buying a road bike to solve my transportation dilemma and was hoping that I could find some advice on these forums.

I'm looking at buying an entry level bike for under $800. I wouldn't mind buying a used bike if it would help me get more for my money. I was looking at this bike: ANZA FX. Any thoughts?

I'm completely new to the forums and cycling, and thank you in advance for the advice!
