We've owned several Trek, Fischer, and Specialized bikes over the years and they have given good reliable service. My son outgrew his Specialized and is well matched to my Tassahara so I looked at this as an opporunity to upgrade my ride. The only Pacific Cycle bikes I ever purchased were the little dept. store variety for the kids when they were toddlers. Is there an overwhelming reason to avoid Schwinn, Mongoose, and the such for mid-range MTB or entry-level road bikes? I'm not talking WalMart or Target but perhaps Performance (for that matter is there a reason to avoid them?). I like supporting my LBS but I have a finite budget too.
TIA, Jack |
