Default Last Lap

The fundraising deadline for the Lance Armstrong Foundation's Peloton Project 2003 is fast approaching. Donations by Internet are still being accepted for about another week. I'm at $1,100 and making a last push to reach at least $1,500.

If you're willing to sponsor me, here's the link: https://secure.laf.org/Donations/Do...m?sid=200075776.

If you're not familiar with LAF, here are the basics, quoted from http://www.laf.org/:

The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) exists to enhance the quality of life for those living with, through, and beyond cancer. Founded in 1997 by cancer survivor and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong, the LAF seeks to promote the optimal physical, psychological, social recovery and care of cancer survivors and their loved ones. The LAF works to define, refine and improve services for cancer survivors and to facilitate the delivery of those services—with a large dose of hope—to patients, their families, and other loved ones touched by the disease.

The Foundation focuses its activities in four areas:
  • Survivorship Education and Resources inform cancer survivors, health care professionals, and the general public about survivorship issues.
  • Community Programs aid in the development of innovative after-treatment services and support for survivors.
  • National Advocacy initiatives address health policy issues in an effort to increase support and services for cancer survivors and their loved ones.
  • Scientific and clinical Research grants support research for better understanding of cancer and cancer survivorship.
By providing information, services, and support, the LAF strives to help all cancer patients through the challenging phases of diagnosis and treatment, encouraging each to adopt positive attitude, as Lance Armstrong developed in his own battle with cancer.

The Lance Armstrong Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Austin, Texas.

It's a great cause. Please help!
