I have a slightly bent crank and have recently got back into riding again. After a short 10k ride the other day my hip joint gave me pain for 3 days. I do a lot of yoga so stretched it in every direction but couldn't seem to exacerbate or ease it.
The pain is on the same side as the bent crank -is there a possible connection or should I look to other explainations? Thanks Charles |

Consider a consult with a doctor or physical therapist ... this annoyance could be a blessing in disguise. Regardless, change the crank ... a "new" crank doesn't have to be expensive. And, in the long run, it's probably not "safe" to continue to use a crank with a bent arm unless the arms are steel. |

Please fill you location in the details on the left. Which crank, left or right? What brand and length? Yes, it will cause problems, lower the seat a little until the problem is fixed.

Yes no question a bent crank will change your biomechanics on the bike and depending on direction can cause hip or knee pain. Change the crank now and get some treatment by a doctor for this acute problem and to further evaluate your condition. You dont want this to develop into a chronic issue and then have to have more treatment even when the crank is replaced
