Default connecting routes: transamerica to natchez trace

hey, y'all.

some friends and i are cycling from washington, dc, to baton rouge in a few days--we're raising money for a local cancer center. check us out at www.capitoltocapitolride.org

i'd really appreciate some help--we're about to start, and i've got pretty much everything done, route wise, except for one little stretch. we'll have connected with the transamerica route in virginia (via the atlantic coast route) and need to get from the transamerica to the natchez trace. the closest the t.a. get to the trace is by mammoth cave.

does anyone know of a good connecting route? anyone from tn and can recommend good roads or a local cycling club to ask?

thanks for the help!
