Default Cross Training Tips

One thing i hate whilst riding my bike on the weekends is when a few riders going whizzing past me. I mainly ride my bike for the social experiences it brings me but still, i don't like being beaten.

I have started running 5km - is that enough? Any Types of Cross Training that has been succesful with you guys? I only ride my bike on weekends so i am looking for a alternative training technique to improve my preformance on the bike. Any Tips?

One thing you'll learn in cycling, or any other sport, is that there'll always be someone who'll beat you.
