Default Jinxed Bike????????

Hilarious,

My wife just called my bike jinxed.
I just got into cyciling in March. Loved it right away. Bought an entry level bike b/c I was new to the sport. Then bought the clothes....THEN got injured and needed surgery ( probably related to the cycling position I was in for 4 hours). While in recovery bought an indoor trainer. The first trainer workout (today) I shredded my rear tire ( not completely but I dread a long road ride..trainer was set too loose.).
My wife wants me to give up the sport. I can push myself on this thing and am impressed with my results.
I have spent quite a bit thus far and have had tremendous bad luck......but it is the bike (not used so no dead previous owners)
There is a learning curve....ok, I understand that. The fact is that I am suddenly in love with this sport. The precise measurements of physical ability lures me in. Yeah it is not as cost friendly as running or weight lifting but the results are fascinating.
See you on the road...................after I recover of coarse.

The only solution... Buy a second bike and see whether the jinx continues. If it does, you probably ought to buy a 3rd and try again. If the jinx doesn't continue, you will have earned another bike for all your hard work fighting off the jinx.

Unfortunately, ROAD tires & trainers are NOT compatible ... and, the tire destroying itself is the norm.

Get a NEW tire before you take your bike on the road, again!

Reserve the use of the "shredded" tire for the trainer. Inconvenient? Yes.

Road tyres and trainers ARE compatible - they just don't last as long on a trainer as on the road.
There is a trainer specific tyre that Continental put out - you could get one of those and fit it to an old back wheel and only use it on your trainer.
Agree with poster above - get a second bike....
