Thumbs up it's on!

I'm finally going to be able to start commuting again. Yea! I have spent all summer dropping my wife and kids off at their respective destinations in the morning, driving home at lunch to let the dog out and then picking up everyone again at the end of the day. Way to much time in traffic and too much gas $. It was the right thing to do for the family but a strain for me. The kids started school today so i'll be able to ride to work as much as i want now. i've even improved my usual commuting route with some weekend scouting, bypassing a big intersection and adding a couple of miles of neighborhood riding. It's 9.3mi each way. Its hot here these days (Texas) but i don't care. I haven't melted yet. i just wanted to shout out to some people that would understand.

Stay strong,
Creep Dog

I can really appreciate how excited you are...the sacrifices we make for the kids. School starts next week and hubby's getting pretty cranky about having lost his commute for summer with having to deal with kids to sitter etc. He's been making up by biking at lunch but it's not the same.

Of course, it probably hasn't help his mood that he's married to this horribly smug woman who claimed custody of the morning commute but the way I look at it, I leave the house for work 10 minutes before he gets out of bed. If he's so keen, he'll just have to get up earlier.

Ya snooze, ya lose!!!
