Default PowerTap, easy change from Shimano to Campy?

I am looking for a used powertap but they all seem to be shimano, I use campy. Wondering if it is a quick hub body change like most wheelsets? Or not...

You can get a a Campy compatible freehub body for the SL but not for the Pro/Std. I guess that now would be the old Pro/Std. Don't see any indication that the new Pro/Std has a Campy freehub body either. - TF

Rather than change the freehub body, and alternative would be to use one of these:

http://www.wheelsmfg.com/products.p...rod=shiftconv10

In fact, the previous owner of my PT wheel used exactly that solution.

I've been told the older PT standard and Pro models use a Shimano 105 model freehub, which is an easy swap. In fact, I've also been told you can "upgrade" the freehub to the Ti DA 9-speed model if you change the bearing cone as well.

The newer SL and Pro models (with the carbon "windows") use a proprietary freehub, I believe, and the freehub replacement requires the greasing of the exposed pawls with some relatively difficult to source grease.

Hope this helps.

I use whatever heavy oil I have lying around for the freehub pawls.

Order the new freehub from Saris and it will come with new washers to correctly space the freehub and axle. You'll have to re-dish the wheel as it moves the wheel a few mm to the driveside. This advice for the SL only.

Thanks guys. After reading the info on the New Polar set up I may just try one of the older ones out since I have a 720i already. Seems I can pick a sensor up for 200 or so.

Assuming you're using Campy 10sp., just run a Shimano or SRAM cassette. As long as you use a Shimano or SRAM chain, it works perfectly fine. I use this on my PT Standard, and have zero problems. I also have a Campy SL, and I interchange the two often. I might have to make a quarter turn on the rear der. adjustment in switching.

The differences between Shimano and Campy spacing are so miniscule at this point, they are practically interchangeable. No need to spend extra money on Wheels Manufacturing and the like.
