Default Front Hubs

Good Afternoon,
I apologize, this is only a semi-related bicycle post. I am actually building a drum set deemed, "The Death Set". I am building a custom rack out of aluminum, and had the bright idea of using the bearing assembilies from the front hubs of an actual bike rim to allow the rack to fold up for easy set up and tear down. Does anyone know where I can get some semi cheap front hubs from? Steel would probably be my best bet. Or even the entire front rim... Used, new, doesn't matter.

I couldn't see spending more than $10 a piece, I'll need 8, for $80, I'll just have to figure out a different way... Just too expensive for a small piece of the puzzle. I figured that you all would know best, I've looked on ebay, google, etc, but I'd like to keep things consistent and low cost.

Thanks for your time,
Pete

After a quick search, here's some new hubs for less than $10 each:

Thanks. I went a head talked with a specialist from Nashbar.com to get the specs of the hub. They're 100mm long (about 4"), they also stated that the thickness in the middle of the actual hub is less than 1.125" (between where the spokes attach). This will work, I ordered enough for the project + 1. I figure with all of the messing around I'd have to do to get unmatched ones from garage sales and auctions, I probably saved money in the long run. Will post of a pic. of the drum set once it's completed. No ETA on that though, I am pretty far from being finished.

Thanks,
Pete
