Default London to Paris with one gear?

I'm thinking of doing London to Paris in June on my Langster (for charity)

The route is

Day 1 - London – Newhaven - Dieppe 104km
Day 2 - Dieppe – Gournay en Bray 87km
Day 3 - Gournay en Bray – Paris 99km

I'm a regular cyclist doing 25 km each day on the nice flat roads of London, and found London to Brighton OK, though I did that on a MTB (with gears).

Is this quite ambitious to do on a fixie? I think its quite undulating.

Cheers
Ben

I regularly ride 100k + organized rides on my track bike and love every mile. It's definitely doable. I would train some to build up, but your mileages do not sound extreme. Good luck.

I am sure I saw more than one fixie on the PBP (1200km) so yeah, it's do-able.

This year at the Cape Epic, like the Trans Alp and Trans Rockies, there were a team of single speeders with rigid frames and forks completing the gruiling 900km.

If you have reservations about the terrain, then consider packing a BMX freewheel with the same tooth count (or, +1 or +2) AND the tools you'll need to remove the lockring on your rear hub ...

Being able to freewheel might become attractive ... or, not!?!

3 x 100km days on a fixed wheel? No worries.

For real hard arsed fixed wheel stuff, the Aussie pro brothers from the 50's Max and Keith Rowley used to train 250km+ a day on fixed wheels in the lead up to big events.
