Default good or bad

im new to rd biking, but been mtb for 3 years on & off rd.
the question i have is when i was out riding i jumped on
with 5 other riders, we were going 24mph and i noticed
the were all on the big chain ring and i was in the middle
and today while out riding i passed a few people and they were
also on big ring, i only feel comfortable on big ring opver 25mph
is this good bad ok? am i over spinning?

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS OVER SPINNING. AS U GET MORE FIT U WILL RIDE FASTER THUS USE THE BIG RING. TRY TO SPIN AT ABOUT 90 TO 100 RPM. DON'T WORY ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE

Righto -- really what feels comfy rules and more people tend to be bigger than they should (power junkies, all of us!). I've watched some really fast riders who've put in tons of miles, still have good knees... with wildly different favorite cadences.
I "feel" for when I'm using the most of my leg in the process or something like that... in general what feels the most efficient.

Spinning is good so don't worry too much.

There is only so much that you can read into people being in different chainrings, as people have different gears/gear ratios. Its best to compare cadences instead.

Thats a good thing!

ride the gear you want, if you think it is too small! a gear can never be too small if the cadence is not to fast! - Hope you understand!

but yeah like what someone said dont worry about other people!

chalk and cheese!
Lance and Ulrich!
spinner and grinder!
spinner won!
Lance won!
But Ulrich waited!
then lance attacked after Ulrich waited!
Ulrich was thinking!
I should not have waited!!!!!!!!!!

I am agree with the concept that you have to select your own comfortable pace, but at some place I have read that at higher cadences your main source of energy are the glycogen stored at your muscles and at lower spin speed your main energy source is the fat stored.

Due to the fact that you have almost unlimited energy in your fat does it mean that for long distances rides is better the low cadences?? and to let the glycogen reserved for some sudden efforts??
