Default Hotels/B&Bs Near Ninove

Hi

I'm going to the Tour Of Flanders this year and wondered if anyone new of any hotels or bed and breakfast inns near the finish in Ninove. I've tried Hotel De Croone and De Kalvaar but they are already booked.

I plan to to the Randonee on the Saturday before the race and was wondering if anyone new of any places to rent decent road bikes nearby? I'm combining this trip with a few other stops and so don't want to bring my own bike and have to carry it around Europe.

Thanks for your help.

John

I'll be at Geraardsbergen at the Muur wall for the Flanders tour. I'm traveling up from just south of Ath.

Your hotel options are limited in Ninove, you're probably better off somewhere outside of Ninove.

I'm unfamiliar with the Randonee, do you have ride info for that day?

What size rental bike are you looking for?

Fietslogies, do you have any info?
Amateurs riding the Tour of Flanders course

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Has anyone ridden the "cycling tourist ronde van vlaanderen ride" that is held in April the day before the pro's race the Tour of Flanders.
http://www.sport.be/cycling/rondeva...deren/2007/eng/
Pictures http://www.rvv.be/2007/eng/fotos/wi...risten2007.html

This is a ride that is open to the public and you get to ride the same exact course, with all the climbs, that the pro’s will ride the next day. How cool would it be to ride the course, then watch the pro’s race the next day in person the way the Belgium’s do!!
Does anyone have any advice/tips on riding the event, either from personal experience or knowledge because they live in Belgium? Here are some quick questions

...Is the start and finish in the same cities every year?
...Are the shorter courses always started in Ninove?
...What is the temperature usually in April?
...Is it hard to rent a car & drive the roads in general?
...If you stay in Brussels, do all the hotels fill up fast?
...Are there any sites where I could read peoples blogs/experiences/advice?
...Is it easy to follow the course to see the pro's racing? I’ve read where people watch them pass on a climb, then take back roads to get to another point watch them and so on.
...Are there better sites than this one for information? http://www.sport.be/cycling/rondeva...deren/2007/eng/

Any advise would be appreciated

Hi,

Some extra info is now available at
http://www.sport.be/cyclingtour/ron...ng/inschrijven/
I guess you will have to keep an eye on the site, to see when new information is added.
I have no experience with this mass event as I'm more into recreational cycling. I hope other participants can help you with that.
This event starts and ends every year in the same 2 cities : Bruges and Ninove.
Temperatures : unpredictable, 5 C°, or 20 C°.

Cheers,
Fietslogies
